Grand Designs – The Carlton Hotel

The simply stunning Hilton Edinburgh Carlton Hotel opened this week, 11 August 2016, after £17m refurbishment.

The hotel is within walking distance from the Edinburgh Castle on the Royal Mile and the full refurbishment programme included 211 bedrooms, front of house, bar and restaurant, leisure club and meeting facilities.

Luci Living Design first visited this hotel with our design team back in June 2015 and completed initial designs of the restaurant area to accommodate a Marco Pierre White Steak House Bar & Grill.

The hotel transferred ownership in 2015 and is now owned and operated by Amaris Hospitality and as part of their 73-hotel portfolio across the UK and Ireland with their appointed Glasgow based Interior Design company ICA completing the final restaurant designs along with the hotel interior.

With ICA completing the final design package Luci at Luci Living Design transferred to the role of design consultant for the remainder of the project as Brand Designer for the Marco Pierre White.

John Brennan, CEO of Amaris Hospitality said: “The Carlton Hotel is an iconic Edinburgh institution and today’s transition marks the completion of a £17 million complete refurbishment program that has transformed this unique and seminal hotel”

A real gem in the heart of Edinburgh.
